Recruitment for the International Summer School – Pollution in the Coastal Zone POLCA 2.0

is now open

We invite Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students in Earth and Environmental Sciences or related fields to apply for the International Summer School – Pollution in the Coastal Zone POLCA 2.0. We have 30 places available for you (25 places for foreigners and 5 places for Polish students).

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 20 March 2026

FREE OF CHARGE: Students from foreign universities receive reimbursement of travel expenses and a scholarship of PLN 4,500.

The results of the second round of recruitment will be announced by 27 March, 2026.

WHAT: A total of 84 hours of lectures, laboratory classes, fieldwork, and classes conducted aboard the research vessel Oceanograf are planned. The programme addresses key physical, biological, chemical, and geological processes of the Baltic Sea, research methods used to monitor and interpret the marine environment, the identification of anthropogenic threats in coastal areas, and the conduct of basic field and laboratory measurements, including the use of drones.

POLCA 2.0 is not only about learning, but also about having fun in an international group. The programme includes integration and development activities as well as a dance lesson and a trip.
